Update: Ottolenghi Amsterdam will officially welcome its first guests on 19 March 2026, with online reservations open now.

Yotam Ottolenghi is set to return to Amsterdam in early 2026 to open his first restaurant in the Netherlands. The celebrated chef, restaurateur, and author will bring his vibrant, flavor-driven cuisine to the city for the very first time, marking his second restaurant in mainland Europe.

The new restaurant will be located at the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium, Amsterdam, currently known as the Conservatorium Hotel. Situated in the city’s prestigious Museum District, the hotel is just steps away from cultural landmarks such as the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum, and The Concertgebouw, making it a prime destination for both locals and international visitors.

In January 2026, the Conservatorium Hotel will officially rebrand as Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium, Amsterdam. Ottolenghi’s restaurant will be a key part of this transformation, further elevating the hotel’s position as one of the city’s most sought-after luxury destinations.

For Ottolenghi, the opening represents a meaningful return to a city he once called home. He lived in Amsterdam in 1995 while completing a master’s degree, before moving to London in 1997 to train at Le Cordon Bleu. It was there that he refined his culinary style and laid the foundations for his global food empire.

Ottolenghi is internationally known for bestselling cookbooks such as Plenty, Simple, and Comfort, which have helped shape modern cooking with their bold flavours and vegetable-forward approach. His first deli opened in Notting Hill in 2002, and today the Ottolenghi group operates ten locations across the UK.

The brand’s international expansion continued in early 2025 with the opening of Ottolenghi at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva. The Amsterdam restaurant builds on this successful partnership and will become Ottolenghi’s twelfth venue worldwide.

Scheduled to open in early 2026, Ottolenghi Amsterdam promises to add a new culinary highlight to the city’s dining scene, while reinforcing Amsterdam’s growing reputation as a leading European food destination.
