Another must-watch commercial this holiday season. Celebrate kindness, whether large or small, showing how each and every act of love has a positive impact on the world around us, as we pass them on to others. Enjoy!
There are two things my oldest daughter and I love when it comes to movies:
1. Christmas-themed and 2. Musicals
No wonder that we are in awe with Netflix’s Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey and our #1 movie for the holidays. The combination of dance, music, a great story, excellent actors and…..our favourite quote
A child with an imagination always belongs. Never be afraid if people can’t see what you see. Only be afraid if you no longer see it.Jeronicus Jangle
I still can’t believe that we’ve enjoyed such an unforgettable time in Manhattan just before the world changed so drastically.
At the end of February 2020, we headed off to New York on our half-term holiday. My travel companions: my husband, two teenage daughters and my mum.
The Times Square EDITION
As this was my mum’s first time to visit New York, I preferred to stay as close to all that I wanted to show her and in the heart of it all, Times Square.
This luxury lifestyle hotel, a sister brand of The Ritz-Carlton, is conceived by Ian Schrager and opened its doors in 2019. But sadly, it seems the hotel will be ceasing operations and close permanently. Due to several factors including the COVID-19 pandemic.
More info on The Times Square EDITION
The hotel features 452 guest rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center and six unique dining experiences developed by Michelin-starred Chef John Fraser.
As you can see below, we’ve done lots of fun activities for all ages. But of all of these, there are a few not to miss on your next trip to New York:
9/11 Memorial Museum: The year before, we also took a trip to New York and were so impressed that we couldn’t re-visit New York without showing the 9/11 Memorial Museum to my mum.
Top of the Rock & One World Observatory: both amazing with different views. A plus for the Top of the Rock: you can also enjoy the views outside instead of behind glass. A plus for One World Observatory: the elevator, you have to pay close attention when going up and seeing the history and building of Manhattan unfold to you.
- Madame Tussauds
- M&M’s World
- Bryant Park
- Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center
- One World Observatory
- Westfield Shopping Mall

In the summer of 2018, we’ve enjoyed a memorable family vacation in Canada. We drove from Toronto and 1000 islands to Ottowa, Montebello, Quebec and ended in Montréal. From the many highlights, there’s one quite unique experience that we’ll never forget.
Packed with lots of carrots we entered Parc Omega and started our 12km long safari journey.
From the comfort of our car, we discovered Canada’s wildlife:
elks, bisons, wolves, bears and foxes, all in their natural habitat.
Feeding deer who come to you for a carrot. Unforgettable!
Further activities: Animal Presentations, walking trails and farm animals.
Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello
An impressive lakeside resort near Parc Omega is the luxury Fairmont Le Château Montebello. The world’s largest log cabin.
We’ve stayed here for 4 nights and had an incredible time. With lots of activities for the whole family, we enjoyed: canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddle board, mountainbike and tennis.
The outdoor swimming pools with lake views are incredible but don’t miss the impressive indoor swimming pool at their Aquatic Center and Health club.
We’ve stayed several times at the iconic Atlantis The Palm in Dubai. A truly unforgettable resort with so many of our longlasting memories.
After our first stay, our kids only wished to stay there again. For them, not only because of the resort but mostly because of the amazing water park, Aquaventure!
When it will be possible to safely travel from Europe to the Emirates, Atlantis The Palm is definitely on our list. When doing a bit of exploring I’ve noticed a few new activities at Aquaventure Waterpark that we would love to do. Check it out:
The Fish Tales Tour
Take your family and explore behind the scenes on the Fish Tales Tour. See what it takes to take care of the 65,000 marine animals residing at Atlantis, The Palm.
Surf’s Up lesson
Private lesson to learn how to surf like a Pro.
Meet a Sea Lion
We had a swim with Jasmin, a beautiful dolphin. We’ve also met some cool pinguins at Ski Dubai. Meeting sea lions? not yet.
Imagine swimming with sea lions in a safe and indoor environment. At Aquaventure’s Sea Lion Point, that dream can become a reality. With a range of interactive experiences, you can get up close with these amazing animals and learn about how they take care of them while helping you to develop a greater appreciation and respect for marine life.
