Venice, the floating city of canals and palazzi, is entering a new golden age of luxury travel.

With three landmark hotel openings slated for 2026, you can expect an elevated hospitality experience blending historic opulence and world-class service. Here’s what’s coming.

Hotel Danieli, Venezia – A Four Seasons Hotel (Reopening Fully in 2026)

Venice’s legendary Hotel Danieli—a historic 14th-century palace on the Grand Canal—is undergoing a full transformation and will relaunch as a Four Seasons Hotel.

Though renovations began in 2023, the hotel is expected to fully reopen under the Four Seasons flag in 2026. With design by Pierre-Yves Rochon, the restoration aims to preserve the hotel’s Venetian Gothic splendor while upgrading all modern amenities.

What to expect:

  • Three historic wings: Palazzo Dandolo, Casa Nuova, and Danieli Excelsior

  • Updated fine dining, lounges, and curated experiences

  • Unmatched canal views and proximity to Piazza San Marco

Airelles Venezia (early 2026)

The renowned French hospitality brand Airelles is making its Italian debut with Airelles Venezia, located on the tranquil Giudecca Island. Housed in a historic architectural complex that includes a 16th-century church and expansive gardens, the property promises a secluded Venetian retreat just minutes from St. Mark’s Square.

What to expect:

  • 45 rooms and suites with Murano glass and Fortuny accents

  • Three pools, wellness center, and large garden spa

  • Gourmet restaurants, bars, and a cicchetti bar

  • Children’s club

Designed by Christophe Tollemer, Airelles Venezia will offer both grandeur and serenity—making it one of Venice’s most exclusive new destinations.

Mandarin Oriental, Venice (San Clemente Palace)

Mandarin Oriental recently confirmed that they’ll operate the San Clemente Island property until its seasonal closure in November 2025, followed by a three-phase renovation. The hotel is set to reopen as Mandarin Oriental, Venice in April 2026, transitioning from its current Kempinski branding.

What to expect:

  • Four distinctive dining venues featuring Mandarin Oriental’s culinary signature.

  • A rebranded Spa at Mandarin Oriental with multiple treatment rooms, Finnish sauna, steam baths, multi-sensory showers, and a relaxation lounge.
