I don’t usually write about every time a luxury hotel joins Virtuoso, but this one is close to home and to my heart.

The Dylan Amsterdam has long been one of my favorite hideaways in the city. Whether it’s for a long, leisurely lunch in their peaceful courtyard (especially on a sunny summer afternoon!) or an unforgettable date night at the two-Michelin-starred Vinkeles, The Dylan always feels like pure magic.

So, when I heard that The Dylan Amsterdam has officially joined the Virtuoso network, I couldn’t be happier.

Tucked along the prestigious Keizersgracht canal, The Dylan occupies an elegant 18th-century building with a remarkable history. Originally, it was the city’s first theater, where Rembrandt himself worked on stage designs. Today, it stands as a haven of understated luxury and Dutch charm. Inside, 41 beautifully distinct rooms and suites await, each offering its own unique character.

Dining here is an experience in its own right. The historic bakery from the 1700s now houses Vinkeles, The Dylan’s intimate, two-Michelin-starred restaurant, perfect for a romantic date night. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more relaxed, Bar Brasserie OCCO serves a delightful “High Wine,” a creative twist on traditional afternoon tea that’s ideal for catching up with friends.

And for the true culinary adventurers, The Dylan’s latest gem, até, offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a tasting menu for just six guests per evening.

What I love most about The Dylan is how serene it feels, even though it’s right in the middle of Amsterdam’s vibrant canal district. The courtyard garden is my personal favorite spot, peaceful, elegant, and utterly charming. It’s the perfect place to linger over lunch, sip a glass of white wine, and just soak in the atmosphere.
