Four Seasons has announced exciting plans to open a new hotel in Berlin, marking the brand’s return to the city after 20 years. The company will transform the historic Hotel de Rome into the Four Seasons Hotel Berlin, set to open in late 2027.
The building has a long and fascinating history. Initially built in the late 1800s as the headquarters of the Dresdner Bank, it became a hotel in 2006. Soon, it will begin a new chapter. Four Seasons will preserve the beautiful old façade, while completely reimagining the inside, including about 140 guest rooms and suites, restaurants, bars, and more.
Located in the heart of the Mitte district on the charming streets of Bebelplatz, the hotel will place guests steps away from some of Berlin’s most famous landmarks. St. Hedwig’s Cathedral, the State Opera, the Brandenburg Gate, Gendarmenmarkt, and Museum Island will all be within easy walking distance.
Until 2026, the property will continue to operate as Hotel de Rome under Gruppo Statuto. Renovations will start soon, with some services staying open during the transition. The hotel will be led by General Manager Christian Poda, a Berlin native with more than 25 years of experience at Four Seasons.
Guests can look forward to relaxing in a Spa once housed in a former jewel vault and enjoying modern fitness facilities. With a location less than an hour from Berlin Brandenburg Airport and just minutes from the central train station, the new Four Seasons Hotel Berlin will be perfectly connected for travellers from around the world.
