The wait is almost over! Belmond’s Villa San Michele will reopen its doors on April 28, 2026, revealing a stunning new look and a renewed spirit of slow luxury.

Once a 15th-century monastery with a Michelangelo-inspired façade, this legendary hideaway in Fiesole, just above Florence, has long been a sanctuary for art lovers and dreamers. Now, after a complete renovation, it’s ready to welcome guests year-round with even more beauty, comfort, and soul.

A Renaissance Reimagined

Belmond partnered with Luigi Fragola Architects, a renowned Florence-based studio, to refresh Villa San Michele while honoring its heritage. The result? A place that feels timeless yet modern, deeply connected to Tuscan nature and craftsmanship.

The retreat now offers 39 redesigned rooms and suites, including three spectacular new Signature Suites:

• Limonaia Suite – Hidden within the villa’s former orangery, surrounded by gardens. Expect a private heated plunge pool, curated art, and endless peace.

• The Grand Tour Suite – Once home to Napoleon Bonaparte, this grand space spans the entire first floor with Tuscan marble, neoclassical tapestries, and sweeping views of Florence.

• Botanica Suite – A green oasis filled with frescoed panels, botanical art, and handmade Florentine décor.

Introducing the Villa San Michele Spa by Guerlain

For the first time ever, the villa will feature a Guerlain Spa, a sanctuary of serenity inspired by the monastery’s spiritual roots and Guerlain’s 200-year wellness heritage.
