As a lifelong theme park enthusiast, there’s nothing quite as thrilling as a pre-opening stay at a brand-new luxury hotel, especially one nestled right in the heart of a legendary park.
So, when I had the chance to experience the Efteling Grand Hotel before its official debut (August 1, 2025), I packed my bags faster than you can say “fairy-tale adventure”!
This isn’t just another theme park hotel. The Efteling Grand Hotel is poised to redefine luxury accommodation for park lovers, and after my stay, I’m convinced it will rank among Europe’s finest.
First Impressions: A Fairytale Come True
A Magical Blend of Elegance and Enchantment
True to Efteling’s signature charm, the hotel’s interior left me completely spellbound. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the soaring ceilings, the beautiful palette of rich, warm colors, and especially the breathtaking chandelier made of golden keys—a whimsical touch that instantly transports you into a fairytale.
What truly stood out, though, was the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. Honestly, I’ve stayed at some of the world’s top five-star hotels, and I’ve never experienced this level of warmth and genuine hospitality.
On the same floor, you’ll find Café Biscuit, a convenient grab-and-go spot, along with Brasserie 7. On the 1st floor: Mystique Bar and Restaurant. I absolutely loved the exceptional food and drinks at Brasserie 7, and a surprise highlight was the mime performer—an enchanting touch that even mesmerized my 20-year-old daughter.
Rooms & Suites: Luxury and Comfort
The hotel boasts 140 rooms and suites, each designed with plush fabrics, rich colors, and subtle nods to Efteling’s iconic tales.
My suite had stunning views and a spacious layout perfect for unwinding after a long day exploring. The bed was heavenly (it resembled a Four Seasons bed), and the bathroom felt like a private spa, complete with a rain shower and bath. The bath amenities of Zenology are a treat and can also be purchased at their in-house upscale Sens Hotel Boutique.
Spa, Pool, and Family Fun
Speaking of spas—yes, there’s a full spa on-site, offering treatments and relaxation areas that feel worlds away from theme park hustle. I also peeked at the indoor heated pool, along with two kiddie pools (one for babies, one for toddlers), perfect for little ones to splash and play.
Extra Perks That Made Our Stay Even Better
Valet Parking
One highlight for me was the complimentary Valet Parking offered right in front of the hotel. Considering the general parking area at The Efteling is massive, being able to simply hand over the keys and have the car taken care of was a truly unique and convenient benefit. Even better, they have 20 EV charging points, so you can leave your charging pass and return to a fully charged car when you check out.
Half Hour Early Access
Another great bonus was the 30 minutes of early access to the park before official opening. This extra time made a big difference, allowing us to enjoy a few popular attractions with minimal waiting.
And coming soon, there’s another thoughtful touch: a delivery service for park purchases straight to your room or suite. No more carrying bags around all day—just shop and relax!
