This morning, transfer to Sage Lodge, your luxurious base for exploring Yellowstone National Park. Your naturalist driver-guide will meet you at the hotel and lead a full-day sightseeing excursion through the heart of the park, showcasing its remarkable geothermal features and abundant wildlife.
Be sure to dress in layers and wear sturdy footwear, and bring sun protection and a reusable water bottle. Yellowstone’s weather can be unpredictable, but your guide will provide a light breakfast and boxed lunch for enjoyment during the day.
Spot bison, elk, bears, and wolves as your guide shares in-depth insight tailored to your interests. Depending on your preferences, the day may include wildlife viewing, short hikes, or off-the-beaten-path exploration. Begin high atop the Island in the Sky mesa and descend the dramatic switchbacks of the Shafer Trail, taking in sweeping views of the Colorado River and surrounding canyons. Discover remnants of Ancestral Puebloan culture, including ancient rock art, before continuing into Arches National Park.
Enjoy a deli-style lunch, then embark on a backcountry tour through Arches, climbing short rock walls, crossing open valleys, and walking among sandstone fins and dunes.
